FRIENDS ONGOING ACTIVITIES
The Toddlers group meets from 9.45am to 11.30am on Wednesdays during term time and it costs just £1 per family to enjoy tea or coffee and biscuits and a time to socialise for both toddlers and their carers. Another community event is the Bladon lunch which takes place on the first Tuesday of every month from 12 noon. For just £3 you can have a main course, piece of home made cake, tea or coffee and, best of all, the chance to meet some very nice people.

Repairs to the Church clock.
In April the Friends launched an appeal for repairs to the Church clock. Many thanks to all the very generous people who have donated towards this important endeavour. In all we raised £4250.
The clock in the tower commemorates the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887; the whole village subscribed to raise the sum of £93 to pay for it. Forty years later its three faces were regilded by a local craftsman. In 1977 it was overhauled and renovated on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, and it was electrified in 1993.
The hands had to be removed and taken away for repair before being refitted. This work cost £7600 plus VAT, and the appeal was launched to help to raise this amount.
